YOU WILL LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR COMPANY AND IT WILL ALSO HELP MINIMIZE YOUR QUESTIONS IN TERMS OF SUBMITTING PROJECTS TO US. ALSO, BECAUSE OF THE VOLUME OF SUBMISSIONS RECEIVED, WE ARE UNABLE TO SPEAK TO INDIVIDUALS ABOUT MANUSCRIPTS UNTIL WE KNOW THEY WILL FIT OUR PUBLISHING NEEDS. (FAQS AVAILABLE BELOW.)

 

New Leaf Press & Master Books® Publishing Policy & Guidelines

With over 1,000 submissions yearly, our acquisitions office must decline the majority of manuscript proposals that are sent in (printing no more than 30 to 35 new titles each year). Please familiarize yourself with our products, and note our current manuscript needs in order to avoid any unnecessary rejection of your materials. Please note: You will need to submit an author proposal form to us prior to submitting your manuscript.

Our Company

We are located in Green Forest, Arkansas and are a non-denominational publishing house, staffed with the finest professionals. Maintaining an excellence of quality in the books that we publish, we practice Christian principles in our daily business matters, striving to achieve a Christ-like spirit in all that we do. Please note: We are not a vanity press, so we do not serve clients wanting print-on-demand (self-publishing) options or reprints. If you have already self-published your book and you are looking for a distributor, that is not a service we provide. If it is a self-published project you would like us to consider publishing, please submit an author proposal regarding it, making note it has been self-published.

We Are Currently Seeking the Following

Nonfiction: If you have not already taken a moment to look over the selection of products on our website, we ask that you do so prior to contacting us regarding your project. Each of our imprints has at its heart a mission statement, which we use to determine the criteria for what we publish. We are always interested in projects that help to fill a need in our existing line. We are the world’s largest publisher of creation-based material for all ages, and are actively seeking well-developed books for families and ministries in the following categories:

  • Apologetics books
  • Homeschool curriculum and small-group resources
  • Christian living, stewardship, and reference titles
  • Church life, discipleship, relationships, and renewal resources
  • Educational books for the homeschool market, grades K through 12 with a young-earth perspective: specifically elementary language arts, social studies, reading, art/music, and math; Jr. high art/music and math; and high school art/music, foreign language, life skills, and math
  • Inspirational titles, including gift books, church leadership resources, and children’s Bibles

Please note: We are currently NOT seeking fiction titles, poetry, or autobiography (unless you have a strong online platform and fit within the mission statement of our specific imprints).

Submitting Your Book Proposal

We look for unique, high quality, fully-completed manuscripts that are well written and will have a positive message for the reader. We expect our authors to be able to easily and plainly express themselves, in both writing and speaking, and to be able to utilize online media in order to reach their audience most effectively. The purpose of this proposal is to pinpoint the information we need in order to best assess your project and see if it fits our current needs and audience. We ask that you not send in your manuscript until we have been able to read and respond to your author’s proposal. This form may be submitted as an email attachment to submissions@newleafpress.net.

Please note: Though we attempt to respond to every submission personally, because of the high volume of files, if you have not received any contact from us after 90 days, know that we are unable to partner with you on your current book. We do accept simultaneous submissions.

FAQs
Q: Can I call in and speak with someone about my proposal before sending it in?

A: Because of the volume of submissions received, we are unable to speak to individuals about manuscripts until we know they will fit our publishing needs. Our staff currently works with hundreds of projects on a variety of sales, marketing, publicity, pre-press and editorial processes. We cannot properly service our customers and current authors if we are busy with calls related to general questions regarding publishing or submission specifics.

Q: Can I send my full manuscript to you or my book if self-published?

A: You will need to submit an author proposal form to us prior to submitting your manuscript. This saves you both time and money for postage, and it allows us to better manage and assess the author proposals that are sent to us.

Q: Can my proposal be mailed through the post office?

A: We no longer accept submissions through the mail. Again, this saves you time and money, and it means that important documents (manuscript, photos, etc.) remain in your care unless we choose to publish your project.

Q: Do you accept simultaneous submissions?

A: Yes.

Q: How long will it take for a response once I email my submission form?

A: If you have not received any contact from us after 90 days, know that we are unable to partner with you on your current book.

Q: Are you a vanity press or self-publishing company?

A: We are not a vanity press, so we do not serve clients wanting print-on-demand (self-publishing) options or reprints.
