Overview

Why do some church leaders thrive while others fizzle? What can a preacher who has lost his passion do to flourish in church leadership once again? How should a pastor handle the overwhelming demands on his time, energy, emotions and family?

Dr. Ronnie Floyd delivers a practical guide to ministry for pastors and church leaders. After decades of pastoral ministry, Floyd’s fire burns red hot to live and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 10 Things Every Minister Needs to Know he offers invaluable wisdom for sustaining family relationships and emotional health while moving ministry teams and churches to succeed.

Floyd presents a clear plan for living out God’s plan instead of living in reaction to other people’s plans. Don’t miss his wise counsel on decision-making, choosing your battles, obedience, and servanthood.

Wisdom is to be prized more highly than riches. The wealth of practical, biblically sound principles Floyd offers is a treasure chest of wisdom birthed from the real experiences and true successes of one of America’s great church leaders.

10 Things Every Minister Needs to Know is highly recommended by pastors of growing churches, seminary leaders, and professors. Dr. Ergun Caner, President of Liberty Theological Seminary recommends that church leaders "devour this work. The chapter on prayer alone is worth ten times the price."

Dr. Floyd’s wife, Jeana, wrote the companion to this book: 10 Things Every Minister’s Wife Need's to Know. Together these books can inject light, life, and hope into the future of your church and church leaders.

Great inspirational book for anyone in ministry
Review by Sara
This book is very inspiring! We do not have a minister in our family but I can definitely see the value in this book for any person doing any sort of leading for the Lord. We are a homeschooling family and I have begun a moms ministry through our church, so I could definitely appreciate all that this book had to offer. Very honest, straight forward and to the point style, and a very easy read, (it also helped that I enjoyed all of the material!). Perfect gift for any pastor, or young person going through seminary, even a father leading a home/home-study. I will be gifting this book!
loved reading this book

This book is Very insightful. The reading is true, and it can help to inspire other that need help believing. I can see that this book can help a pastor or a ministry. It can help find balance in the ministry, if it needs balancing.

This book includes a foreword and introduction chapter and 10 chapters following that. I love the chapter titled Decision Making is Not About You. It tells you an American on average makes 73 decisions regarding work, purchases, home, and family each day. I'm one that counted the decisions i made in one day, just to see if it was right and it was.

I really enjoyed reading this book and will be having my oldest daughter read it when she asks for a book to read.
It makes a great gift

My husband just became an elder at our church, and this was a great way to welcome him to the leadership.
