Founded in 1974 by Cliff Dudley, New Leaf began as a small, family-owned company with a powerful vision: to share the truth of God’s Word and empower believers through the printed page. Fueled by his deep passion for the Gospel and belief in the power of Christian literature, Cliff started with a few titles and a commitment to make a lasting impact.
His dedication and unwavering belief in the impact of Christian literature helped New Leaf Press grow from a small family venture into a respected name in faith-based publishing. Today, Cliff’s legacy lives on through New Leaf Publishing Group, which continues to educate, encourage, and inspire readers around the world, reaching hearts for eternity.
1960’s
After serving as sales manager at Moody Publishing in the late 1960s, Cliff Dudley decides to strike out on his own.
1975
Cliff Dudley founds New Leaf Press, Inc. with a vision to create and distribute books that would inspire, educate, and affirm faith. The first New Leaf Press title is published in June 1975— Yesterday, Today, and Forever.
1975
Recognizing the need for Christian literature grounded in truth, Dr. Tim LaHaye partnered with Dr. Henry M. Morris, a pioneer in modern creation science, to establish Master Books and publish materials that would inspire faith and encourage a deeper understanding of the Bible.
1992
Tim Dudley, the son of New Leaf Press founder Cliff Dudley, takes over leadership of New Leaf Press.
Feb 1996
New Leaf Press purchases Master Books and begins offering children’s literature which sets the standard for biblically grounded educational materials and books.
August 1996
Master Books becomes the primary publisher of many Answers in Genesis resources, establishing itself as a trusted name for families seeking creation-based materials.
2004
New Leaf Publishing Group is officially established. This signified the company's move from a small press into a multifaceted, internationally recognized publisher of Christian literature and educational materials.
2007
Master Books publishes Adam's Synchronological Chart or Map of History—A vintage reproduction timeline tracing biblical and world history.
2008
Attic Books launches to provide quality, faith-based novels, offering readers engaging stories that aligned with Christian values.
2012
Kristen Pratt joins Master Books, bringing her passion for education. She spearheads the development of engaging homeschool curriculum, including the award-winning Language Lessons for a Living Education series.
2015
Randy Pratt joins Master Books, bringing a vision for expanding faith-based education. His leadership helps establish Master Books as a trusted name in the homeschool market, fostering the development of innovative, biblically grounded resources.
2022
A group of Kingdom-minded investors acquires New Leaf Publishing Group. Jerrod Vaughan is appointed CEO, ushering in a new era of growth and expanding its mission to equip families and believers with transformative, faith-based resources.
