    Great introduction for the littles

    I originally got the first four books of the set and loved them. My daughters loved them too. (So much that they tore out pages.)
    I was excited when 3 more books came out and had the same style of presentation. These books introduce the topics of sin, redemption, and repentance, in a very kid friendly way while still being true to the gospel message.
    They can be used as a little readers to discuss the topics or as a devotional as every page has scripture reference to what it is referencing.
    A great little set that is also a good gift for a young family.

    I’m so excited to see these books being offered as a set. What an invaluable addition to your home or church library as well as an excellent gift for baby showers, baby dedications, or birthdays! Each book presents a different truth from Scripture in a simple, age appropriate, colorful, and engaging way for 3-7 year olds. They are a wonderful reminder that the truth in God’s Word is simple enough for a child to understand and yet profound enough to never be able to reach the depths of even as a grandparent. I can’t recommend this series highly enough.

    We love this little series! These high-quality, hardcover books are small enough for little hands to hold and full of color illustrations without being too busy. They are not written in a story format, but each book has a main character that is “talking” to the reader. Each book gives a Biblical overview of what the topic is and there are Scripture verses listed on the bottom of every page for easy reference. All my kids ages 4-10 enjoy and learn from these books. I definitely would recommend this set to families with younger children!
    Great Discussion Starter but a Few Caveats

    We have enjoyed using all of the Big Thoughts Books for opening up some wonderful discussions on important topics with our young children, especially ages 4-8. Although we use this series and recommend most aspects, I do have a few caveats.

    I love how the Trinity book breaks down a complex topic and gives a young child a big picture view. One thing I was disappointed in however, was the inclusion of the Constantinopolitan Creed of A.D. 381. In general New Leaf Publishing Group has been great about avoiding divisive denominational issues, and focusing on God's word as the authority. This creed, however, mentions one baptism for the remission of sins, a phrase that is unclear and would indicate to a young child that baptism is necessary for salvation. We ended up taping that page shut. We have also had to alter a few images like the little girl in the Bath Tub in the gospel. There is also a little girl whose belly button is sticking out throughout the Mission.

    Aside from these elements, we really have enjoyed studying these books together in Morning Time and with the Where Faith Grows courses. The 3 new books on Heaven, the Church, and Jesus have been a wonderful addition and a joy to read.

    Our five-year-old daughter loves this series and asks me to read these books to her several times a week. This series is so engaging for little minds. Recently, while reading the book Heaven, my daughter was very inquisitive about Heaven, Hell, and her need for Jesus. She stopped me in the middle of reading and asked if she could ask Jesus into her heart. The greatest joy for a parent is leading them to Christ! Thank you, Master Books, for being a part of her journey to find her loving Savior. We rejoice that now all five of our children have a relationship with Jesus!
