Theology for Littles
Review by JC
I love that they expanded this series. It is good theology explained in simple terms, but it is NOT watered down. Children can understand more than they are often given credit for, and faith is simple to them.
This is a great tool for talking about heaven with your child or class. Heaven is something we've been given limited information on, and much of what we hear over the years is merely speculation. I appreciate that this book sticks to the facts given in the Bible. As a matter of fact, the author addresses this in a friendly way. I also appreciate that he addresses that we won't be bored. I've even heard some adult Christians wonder about this. He also discusses the only way to heaven- salvation through Jesus Christ. And along with that, he talks about our relationship with God in heaven. Heaven will be wonderful, but that is because of the wonderful relationship with our Savior. It's not merely a utopia as I've unfortunately it portrayed before. There will be more to Heaven than we can possibly understand, but an eternity of a fully restored relationship with God Himself is definitely the best part.
Great addition

We have all of the other Big Thoughts for Little Thinker books and this is a great addition. They take big concepts and make them easy to understand for young children. We love that they're small and easy for little hands to hold and look through as well. I enjoy the extra Bible verses at the bottom of the pages for me to dig deeper with my kids and bring all things back to the Word of God.
Glorious truths!
Review by JoyfulMommy
This book is an excellent springboard for meaningful conversation with our children. The topic of Heaven is particularly pertinent to our family right now since several friends and loved ones have just gone there themselves. This book describes how sin broke the very good creation and tells how Jesus came to free us from the penalty of sin. Sin cannot enter heaven, but by being connected to Jesus, we get to go where He goes, because He paid the penalty for our sin! Then it tells how He will come again and there will be a new Heaven and Earth. I appreciate that it points out we do not know exactly what it will be like and while it’s OK to imagine, we know it will be far better than anything we CAN imagine! We also talk about how the pictures are what someone imagined too, just so the little ones do not grow up thinking heaven looks like a gingerbread castle per their book. :-) I am happy to have this book in our family library and expect we will read it many more times!
Inviting for young readers

What a child friendly introduction to Heaven. The bright, cheerful pictures are so inviting. The gospel in clearly presented. Heaven by Joey Allen is a great book for new readers - as well as more experienced ones!
Fun to read!
Review by LaceeC
This was a fun book to read! I appreciate the theology on a child’s level and the verses to back up what the book says on each page. The colorful pictures are engaging and appropriate. Reading about Heaven and what it will be like and how we get there, and sharing that with my children on their level is priceless.
An excellent tool for introducing children to the hope and joy of Heaven from a Christian worldview.

Joey Allen does an excellent job of grounding the content in Scripture without overwhelming young readers. Despite the simplicity, it does not shy away from deep truths about sin, salvation, and eternity. The illustrations are colorful, inviting, and reinforce the message of hope and joy. This is a valuable resource for anyone seeking to nurture faith in young hearts.
A very good book for teaching children about heaven
Review by Amy
Big Thoughts for Little Thinkers: Heaven is a wonderful, kid-friendly introduction to God's truth. Clear, simple, and engaging. One small request—please draw the children with five fingers instead of four! I always have to add the fifth myself
Fantastic Resource
Review by Santina
Big Thoughts for Little Thinkers Heaven is a great addition in the series and explains heaven in an age appropriate and understandable way. The Bible references at the bottom of each page are a great way to involve older children as they can read and then look up the corresponding Bible verses. This would make a great addition to a morning basket or to read and discuss two or three pages each day.
Great little book about heaven
Review by Michelle C.
I had my 10-year-old son read this book about heaven, and he enjoyed it. Two statements he said include:
“The first 2-3 pages don’t talk about heaven, but they are necessary because they explain how we get to heaven and why heaven is a gift.”
“This book about heaven is a really good conversation starter for older kids.”
He thought the book is better suited for older kids because of some of the challenging concepts. I agree and disagree. This book is a wonderful overview of heaven for all ages. It’s even encouraging to adults! Some of the pages sparked deeper conversation between me and my 10-year-old but it also brought up some questions within my 6-year-old.

There are several Scripture references on each page that equip the parent to dive deeper into each topic. The illustrations are colorful and engaging without being too busy. My kids were thrilled to see some of the kids in the illustrations that are in the other books within the series. This little book is packed with Biblical encouragement and hope for what we as Christians can look forward to. I’m so glad this book has been added to the series!

Note: the word ghost is mentioned which I’m not a fan of. I understand the truth behind it (the book says we won’t be an angel or ghost in heaven but have new bodies as us), but since we don't allow anything with ghosts in our family, I wish this word wasn’t used. However, since it’s only one word and not depicted in any of the illustrations, this won’t prevent me from owning this book or recommending it. I couldn't give it 5 stars because I would want to recommend it with the disclaimer of the word ghost being used. (I would've given 4.5 stars if I could have)
Wonderfully written
Review by Andi
The books in this series are phenomenal and this one is no different. What a great description of Heaven written perfectly for kids (and adults honestly). It brought on great discussions with my children and I appreciate the references on the pages that refer back to verses in the Bible that support what is being said in the book. We enjoyed the pictures, the discussion and the truth of the book. Great addition to the series.
