    This high school algebra curriculum provides a full year of math in an easy to follow format with guidance for teachers as well as for students who are self-directed. The full color student text is divided into 17 sections, covering functions and graphs, integers, rational numbers, exponents, polynomials, factoring, fractions, and more. Select solutions are provided in the text with full answers available in the Teacher Guide. The course is designed to be completed in one year with lessons spanning 5 days a week for 45 - 60 minutes each.

    As an engineer and homeschooler, I love Jacob's Algebra and Geometry. Both booths are excellent in that they are engaging and are written in such a way to inspire students to think and chew on concepts. I really LOVE that this book is in color. There is just something about color that brings concepts to life. The real life examples and applications are also so important to a student understanding why they are even learning this material. A+ very happy with this and will continue to use it with my students.

    Jacob’s Algebra builds nicely upon Principles of Mathematics. Whether you have a math loving student or a student who needs a lot of support, they will be set up for success. I appreciate that there are extra credit problems on the tests and the fun pictures and comic strips throughout are a nice addition. I recommend using the academy videos alongside the textbook and teacher guide.
    Not a boring textbook

    We liked the looks of this Algebra course and were excited to use it. The conversational approach, use of cartoons and humor interested my daughter. She did get overwhelmed with the number of problems to solve each day. If we were to use this course again, we would add the corresponding Masterbooks Academy course. The Teacher Guide is a necessary component of the Algebra course. It includes an easy-to-follow schedule, covering 180 days/36 weeks. There are 17 chapter tests included, as well as a mid-term and final exam. This guide also contains answer keys. I would like to see more worked out complete solutions, especially for the tests and exams.

    I love the setup of this course. I can save the student guide to use in later years, too. My favorite part is that when the student goes to work on an assignment, Set 1 reviews previous concepts. Pair this with the Academy video course and it’s all around a great Algebra 1 course.

    This mathbook felt way more textbooky than most Master Books books, also there is not a Christian worldview mixed in, like we had in pom 1 & 2.

    I’ve been looking through this ahead of my kids using it, it’s very well laid out and has helped me to refresh my skills before teaching this to them. It’s got real life scenarios and interesting cartoon depictions which make it a little more interesting! So excited to teach this to my kiddos!
    Way to many questions per lesson

    This curriculum is thorough, but there is way too many questions per lesson. The last lesson my son did if you add up all the a-z questions, plus the 4 or more numbers you have to put into each formula it ended up being a 69-question lesson. It took him 2 hours. That to me is overkill. I will not be ordering high school math anymore thru Master books because the lessons assignments are just too long.

    We used Elementary Algebra along with the accompanying Academy course video lessons in 9th grade. I was worried jumping into HS math because It was not my strong suit. My son was able to complete the course with little help from me. I appreciated that GREATLY! The Academy course offers an adjusted schedule so It's not too heavy. This was also fantastic as my son is Autistic and works at a slower pace in general. He was able to finish the course in our normal school time frame.

    I have tried using this curriculum with several students and even purchased the academy to see if that would help and my students were confused and struggled to understand the concepts. There is nothing Biblical about this curriculum either and I love the other books that have brought scripture into every lesson. Unfortunately I have to go with another curriculum for elementary algebra.

    I have always enjoyed algebra, but after not doing algebra for many years, this course is bringing so much back to memory if my high schooler needs help. It's straight forward, well explained and plenty of examples for practice. We'll be using this course for our other children as well!
