Chemistry is an amazing branch of science that affects us every day, yet few people realize it, or even give it much thought. Without chemistry, there would be nothing made of plastic, there would be no rubber tires, no tin cans, no television, no microwave ovens, or something as simple as wax paper.

Writing style leaves a lot to be desired
Review by Becky
The historical information is good but this is very difficult to read because it is written at a second or third grade level. The sentences are short and choppy without a smooth flow. It is unfortunate...as I said at first, the information is good but presented poorly for a high school level. It really needs to be re-written.
Nice Intro to Chemistry
Review by Teish
We used this book as part of the Survey of Science History & Concepts course, but I’d also recommend it to students who are interested in Chemistry or as a nice reference book to have on hand to supplement other science courses.
Trusted Reference

I purchased this in an electronic format. With so much content on the internet to be concerned with, this resource provides a digital reference for my daughter that I can trust, that honors God. Thank You MasterBooks!!!
Great even for elementary age
Review by Melissa
My son is very interested in chemistry right now, and I am going to give him this book to read, even though he is only 8. The concepts are explained really well, and I think he will be able to learn a lot. Wish it was in color.
Great for class and reference!

We love all of Tiner's books and have purchased all of them. Our kids are still young, but we use these books as read alouds and for research. They are such an engaging read and packed with great information. I plan to use them with Master Book's Survey of Science History & Concepts when my children are ready for that course.

I am excited to use this book with my son for his 5th grade chemistry. I ordered it ahead to look it over for myself. I am grateful for the selection of books that Master Books carries!
