Customer Reviews
I recommend this to kids ages 10 and up, all the way up to adults. This would make a great audiobook for a family with older children.
This book focuses on the lives and moral character of influential American leaders, aiming not just to inform, but to inspire.
The author profiles several notable American statesmen—including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and others—highlighting their personal virtues, patriotism, and contributions to the founding and shaping of the United States. Each chapter is structured around biographical storytelling, moral lessons, and historical context, often supported by Scripture and discussion questions.
The book emphasizes traits such as integrity, courage, and faith, making history more personal to young readers. I appreciated the way she integrated biblical principles throughout the stories, reinforcing moral values alongside historical education.
This format has review questions that lead to great discussions. This is great for a read-aloud for children of different ages.
The audio book is read by Will Stauff. I like the pace he reads and find his voice for comfortable to listen to.
I usually enjoy the audiobook for the What A Character, but the narrator was a bit difficult to listen to for 1 or 2 of the stories on this one. Otherwise, it is a great resource for discussion as you travel in the car or anywhere really. As always, some of of the stories may be intense for the tenderhearted as they contain some war related peril.
