Amazing Resource!

Another great book in the series! We loved learning about each woman and a little background history to go with them. I like the end where it connects to different Masterbooks curriculum books to further make connections. We loved adding this into our morning basket. The glossary at the end was also incredibly helpful. It is as much fun learning for me as it is for my kids.
Another great addition!!

Amazing addition to the series
Review by Lacee C
Famous Women of History goes through some of my absolute favorite women! Sybil Ludington, Abigail Adams, Deborah Sampson, Dolley Madison, Florence Nightingale, Kate Shelley, Annie Oakley, Clara Barton, Amelia Earhart, and Helen Keller! I enjoy reading each woman’s story and their contributions to society. Throughout the book there are key terms, all put together in a glossary at the end of the book. There is also a “corresponding curriculum” page where you will find where each woman’s story will fit within the Master Books curriculum books. I highly recommend every book in this series.
Great Series

Our family just loves this series. The pictures are engaging and inviting while the words draw the reader in! While this is a book about famous women in history, my boys loved reading it. It opened up conversations about how brave these women were because they lived during a different era than we do now. Our daughters are now encouraged to reach for their goals and try to achieve them, but these women lived when these ideas were not encouraged. Several of the women covered are well known, such as Amelia Earhart and Florence Nightengale, while several were women we had not heard of before this book, such as Kate Shelley and Deborah Sampson. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for independent reading for upper elementary/middle school and read aloud for all ages!
Famous Women in History

Another great addition to the What a Character series. Famous Women in History is a great read aloud for upper elementary students or independent reading for middle school students. There is a good mix of well-known biographies as well as some that you may not read about often. The stories of ten different women from American history would make a great supplement to any history or language arts program. The vocabulary and definitions are consistent with others in the series.
Engaging stories

This book was written by Marilyn Boyer who is deeply patriotic and passionate about America’s Christian history.

This book introduces us to the lives of ten famous women throughout history. Sybil Ludington, Abigail Adams, Deborah Sampson, Dolley Madison, Florence Nightingale, Kate Shelley, Annie Oakley, Clara Barton, Amelia Earhart, and Helen Keller.

The stories are engaging, and great to keep a young reader's interest. I heard about Clara Barton but was fascinated to learn many things she did in her life, like starting a school.

This is part of the What a Character Series of books. This is great to read as a stand-alone or to accompany your history books.
Excellent Book!

We have absolutely adored the What A Character series and this addition of Famous Women in History does not disappoint! My daughter (5th grade) has claimed this one as her favorite because she loves reading about all the notable women in history.

This book covers the lives of ten women in history, including Abigail Adams, Annie Oakley, Amelia Earhart, and Helen Keller, to name a few. We have loved pulling this series out as we study history and being able to dig deeper into the lives of the people we encounter. I also love that I often find my kids pulling these books off the shelf and reading them on their own.

This is definitely a book to add to your shelves!
Great resource!

This is an inspiring and educational book that brings the stories of remarkable women to young readers. I found the writing to be engaging, making history even more interesting, while encouraging students to explore the past through the lives of these influential figures. This wonderful resource will provide role models for the next generation.
Another wonderful book in the series!

I have 3 daughters and we just love to hear about the fantastic things that women are capable of! We especially love when they stand for truth and justice all within a biblical context. This book is a great continuation of the series and goes over 10 women that did extraordinary things. My kiddos really enjoyed each chapter and were very eager to see who the next leading lady would be. There was even some women I did not know about, so this book was a treat for the whole family. This is certainly a wonderful read aloud, or reader for upper elementary. It has vocabulary words throughout in bolded text and a corresponding curriculum section in the back.
Amazing series!

What a neat little book to introduce ten special women in history. Florence Nightingale, Amelia Earhart, and others are included in this book. The stories are inspirational and encourage development of good character.
This book is great for independent reading, as it is fun and has definitions for words that may be unfamiliar or difficult for younger readers to understand. It would make a great read-aloud or morning basket addition. These stories would also be really fun to include with corresponding history lessons, and there’s even a list in the back of the book that notes potential books to pair each chapter with.
Overall, I highly recommend this entire series of books for every homeschool library. They’re such a fun way to learn bits of history.
