Amazing addition to the series
Review by Lacee C
Famous Women of History goes through some of my absolute favorite women! Sybil Ludington, Abigail Adams, Deborah Sampson, Dolley Madison, Florence Nightingale, Kate Shelley, Annie Oakley, Clara Barton, Amelia Earhart, and Helen Keller! I enjoy reading each woman’s story and their contributions to society. Throughout the book there are key terms, all put together in a glossary at the end of the book. There is also a “corresponding curriculum” page where you will find where each woman’s story will fit within the Master Books curriculum books. I highly recommend every book in this series.
Great Series!

Our family just loves this series. The pictures are engaging and inviting while the words draw the reader in! While this is a book about famous women in history, my boys loved reading it. It opened up conversations about how brave these women were because they lived during a different era than we do now. Our daughters are now encouraged to reach for their goals and try to achieve them, but these women lived when these ideas were not encouraged. Several of the women covered are well known, such as Amelia Earhart and Florence Nightengale, while several were women we had not heard of before this book, such as Kate Shelley and Deborah Sampson. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for independent reading for upper elementary/middle school and read aloud for all ages!
Excellent Book!

We have absolutely adored the What A Character series and this addition of Famous Women in History does not disappoint! My daughter (5th grade) has claimed this one as her favorite because she loves reading about all the notable women in history.

This book covers the lives of ten women in history, including Abigail Adams, Annie Oakley, Amelia Earhart, and Helen Keller, to name a few. We have loved pulling this series out as we study history and being able to dig deeper into the lives of the people we encounter. I also love that I often find my kids pulling these books off the shelf and reading them on their own.

This is definitely a book to add to your shelves!
Amazing series!

What a neat little book to introduce ten special women in history. Florence Nightingale, Amelia Earhart, and others are included in this book. The stories are inspirational and encourage development of good character.
This book is great for independent reading, as it is fun and has definitions for words that may be unfamiliar or difficult for younger readers to understand. It would make a great read-aloud or morning basket addition. These stories would also be really fun to include with corresponding history lessons, and there’s even a list in the back of the book that notes potential books to pair each chapter with.
Overall, I highly recommend this entire series of books for every homeschool library. They’re such a fun way to learn bits of history.
