Helped my daughter read
Review by Heather
This curriculum helped my daughter learn to read. It was easy to follow and she enjoyed it. I do wish that it was a full year.
Phonics + Bible YES!
Review by Ashley
My daughter loved learning about the Bible while also learning how to read! We loved this combo and were excited to share with little sister!
Very thorough

My son enjoyed learning to read with all the Bible stories!
Five Stars!
Review by Johanna
Did not expect this book to take us on such a beautiful journey through the Bible like it did while simultaneously teaching my boys phonics! It gave a clear presentation of the Gospel–starting with the creation of the world and ending with a loving and personal invitation to follow Christ. I was so very moved with the way the Gospel is shared.

I followed the lesson plans for each day, not understanding why the order of the letters presented weren’t in alphabetical order, but I was glad that we stuck with the sequence of the book because it followed the accounts of the Bible and the salvation message in a way that flowed together well.

Sometimes the lesson narratives were a little too long to read, so I reworded it into a shortened version to fit my sons’ attention span.
We started this book in the fall semester and then transitioned smoothly into Language Lessons for a Living Education: Level 1 for the spring semester.

I did this book with both sons, one in 2020 and the other in 2022, when they were 6 years old. They both learned all the letter sounds and blends presented in the book and gained confidence in reading.

It helped to get this book spiral bound at Staples since I wanted to keep the book together, but also have the pages lay flat for little ones just learning how to write.
Best resource for learning Phonics

Great for learning/reinforcing letter sounds
Review by Gina
We found this curriculum to be very good for reinforcing letter sounds. We loved the Bible stories in each lesson.
We loved this!
Review by Meagan
This was a great book for teaching phonics. The lessons were short and simple. Very easy to follow along with and teach. I didn’t realize we would be done with it half way through the school year but that really hasn’t been a huge issue.
Daughter Loves, Momma filled with Relief and Happiness
Review by Emilie
My daughter loved this book so much that she cried when we were done with it! She wanted to keep doing it. She especially loved the Bible story for each lesson. It's just such a calm, gentle approach---one that she really needed. (My daughter is in vision therapy. While she has almost perfect 20/20 vision, her brain doesn't connect the images she sees the way it needs to for her to read quickly. So, we repeated 1st grade with this new curriculum. I thank God every day we found this.)

She's gaining confidence and not fighting learning. She even asks to do extra work some days. Over time, I can see this gentle approach actually "catching her up" to her technical grade level and above... but with the cheer and confidence she needs for life-long learning.

The happy thing is that the next book, Language Lessons for a Living Education #1 is super fun and still incorporates the story time my daughter loves.

If you're on the fence and wondering if this will be rigorous enough, it is. It's fantastic. It's made our days so much easier. (I work part-time, so that should tell you how doable this is. It's easy and effective. Plus, the science curriculum that pairs with this year is just as good.)
Loving it!
Review by Elizabeth
My kindergartener zoomed through Simply K so we started Foundations Phonics half way through the year. She is absolutely loving it and thriving.
Review by Tabitha
I tried many different phonics curriculums and this was by far mine and my sons favorite!
