History comes alive!
Review byJoyfulMommy
These stories introduced us to people I was unfamiliar with from the Revolutionary War, and helped us become better acquainted with others we already knew of. This series is amazing for bringing history to life for my late elementary readers, but having the audiobook makes it useful for the entire family as we listen together in the car or while doing quiet activities. Complements America’s Story wonderfully!

Perfect for a Road Trip
Review byLexie
If you have a vacation planned, this is just the download you need for a road trip. It was such a blessing to be able to listen to this book while we traveled. My kids looked forward to learning about each of the characters in each chapter, and the reader had such an enthusiastic voice which is very enjoyable and engaging. We had done a rather extensive study on Paul Revere a few years ago, yet this book also taught us a few more things that we had not known about him! They also offer this book in an physical book that would be an excellent addition to a child's library. This audio version was just perfect for my family as my kids had no idea they were secretly getting a history lesson in the car.

Great audiobook reader
Review byLacee C
I've been enjoying these audio books of the readers - they are handy for when you are on the go and need/want to read different chapters. This book is dedicated to Heroes of the Revolution: Paul Revere, John Peter Gabriel, Betsy Ross, John Stark, Mad Anthony Wayne, John Sevier, Reverend James Caldwell, Nathanael Greene, Emily Geiger, and Marquis de Lafayette. The book starts with a brief overview of what happened before and led to the American Revolution. It's a perfect companion to America's Story 3 as well! I highly recommend these audiobooks alongside the readers - it's fun to have both!

Fantastic Audiobook!
Review bySantina
Heroes of the War for Independence is an exciting read and includes many details about each of the
ten heroes. Will Staub is an engaging narrator and does a fantastic job of making each story come to life. You will learn so much about American history just by listening to each biography. This book
does a great job of setting the backdrop of the War for Independence before diving into each biography. The option to listen to each story provides another great way to learn the material. You can simply listen or choose to follow along in the book.

Audio version for the win!
Review byAudrey525
The What a Character series is such a fun edition for families! It is always great to have resources that make learning fun and come to life. We’ve had several books of the series, but we’d never listened to the audio book version. It is so fun and engaging! What a nice option to have school on the go. My kids always have a podcast in the background in their free time, and this is a great tool! The Heroes for the War on Independence is another example of how easy it can be to incorporate extras into history and really make it come alive. This is definitely one of those series to collect and I believe having the print version alongside the audio version is the ultimate way to experience this book!

Love the audiobook!
Review byBecky V.
Heroes of the War for Independence as an audiobook is an excellent addition to the What a Character! series. I love that it is offered as a book and as an audiobook - it makes it so very flexible to be able to use as a family! My kids love listening to the stories of Paul Revere, Betsy Ross, Mad Anthony Wayne and are always asking for more. The narrator has a very clear voice and is easy to listen to. When kids are begging to hear more stories from our history - that makes it a win in my book!

Amazing series
Review byDustie
This is an enjoyable reader that covers ten of the heroes of the Revolutionary War. It’s a great introduction to this period in history. The illustrations are pleasant and help break apart the text for kids who prefer that.
This book is great for independent reading, as it is fun and has definitions for words that may be unfamiliar or difficult for younger readers to understand. It would make a great read-aloud or morning basket addition. These stories would also be really fun to include with corresponding history lessons, and there’s even a list in the back of the book that notes potential books to pair each chapter with. The audio is such a fun way to include these wonderful stories in a busy day.
Overall, I highly recommend this entire series of books for every homeschool library. They’re such a fun way to learn bits of history.
