Preparation for the future
Review by Momof4
We have used this curriculum with our oldest two sons. It has been a huge help in preparing them for college and career. When taking high school literature and essay classes, they found themselves prepared to write and the teachers noticed their capability to write.
My husband is an engineer, and is impressed with this course and how it meets the needs for professional/business writing.
Great Foundation in Essay writing
Review by Easy to follow
This was a great introduction to the basic five paragraph essay. It is a tool students can/will use throughout highschool and even college. I have previously used another curriculum to teach the five paragraph essay and this one is better, hands down. It is both clear and easy to follow for the student and teacher if the teacher is guiding a student.
Writing Works
Review by Tabitha
I like to expose my children to more than one writing course. This course varied in approach from the other curriculas we have tried. I feel overall that this is a solid course.
Great book!
Review by Angela
I love how this curriculum has both reading and writing. Great way to add another literature credit to a transcript. It's simple, easy to follow and has helped both my teenagers really learn how to effectively write. They were in public school up until 10th grade and have never really learned how to write papers or correct paragraph formatting. This has been really good for them and they enjoy it!
Very Good
Review by Danyelle
My daughter really feels like she is enhancing her writing and learning so much about various writing formats. She loves writing and she feels like she will be better prepared for college after using this course.
Great follow up
Review by Shell
I am using this course as a final prep for college with my high school students. It is great and challenging for fine tuning their writing skills.
Just what we needed!
Review by Nicole
After coming off of a bad language arts curriculum last year, my daughter had started to detest writing. Halfway through this program and she is starting to gain her love of writing back. It is thorough without being overwhelming. I do feel that the skills she is learning, will help her in the future.
Easy to follow for my reluctant high schooler
Review by Tami
My 11th grader is enjoying this book. Simple to follow with not a ton of book work. Exactly what he needed.
Too dry
Review by Kylee
My 10th grade daughter, who doesn't mind writing, hated this book. She felt it was too restrictive and used formatting that didn't make sense to her. More examples would have been helpful. She writes well so this method of teaching didn't help her. I felt it was a good program, but not great. We switched to something else.
Great book
Review by brandi
My 9th grader is using this book in her writing class. We both love it and we love all the Jensen books.
