This is a true story about Jesus. It comes from Luke Chapter 23 in your Bible.
In the New Testament, we see that God’s plan to save us happens, and the world is changed forever. Jesus taught people the truth of God and His love for us. Jesus died on the Cross for our sins and rose again to prove He defeated death! God always keeps His promises!
In Luke 23 of the Bible, it tells the story of Jesus being crucified alongside two criminals, one on his right and the other on his left. These two thieves were also being punished for their crimes. As Jesus hung on the cross, one of the criminals mocked and insulted him, saying that if he truly was the Messiah, he should save himself and them. However, the other criminal rebuked his companion, acknowledging that they were being justly punished for their crimes, but Jesus was innocent and did not deserve to die. This criminal then turned to Jesus and said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
In response, Jesus spoke words of incredible grace and compassion, saying, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise." Even in the midst of his own suffering and imminent death, Jesus extended forgiveness and salvation to this repentant criminal. It is a powerful reminder of Jesus' boundless love and mercy, that even in his darkest hour, he offered the gift of eternal life to someone who sincerely turned to him in faith. This story highlights the incredible power of redemption and the limitless grace that Jesus offers to all who believe in him.

Great story for Easter
Review byLaura
This book tells the story of the crucifixion of Jesus from Luke 23. The story is told in a way that captures even the youngest readers attention. After the story a short gospel message is shared. This would be a perfect book to read at Easter time. At the very end there is a short glossary to help kids fully understand what was read. We are truly enjoying this series of books!

A story of forgiveness and hope
Review byBecky V.
I think this little book might just be my favorite of the series yet. Jesus Forgives retells the story of Luke 23, of Jesus on the cross alongside the robber and the thief. It tells of the forgiveness that is offered to the thief as he also hung on a cross.
It gives the simple message that we are given a place in Paradise not because of what we do, not our deeds, but because of Jesus' forgiveness alone. A story of forgiveness and hope. Such a powerful message, but presented in a way that is easily understood as a child.

Beautiful Children’s Book with an Amazing Message
Review byKathleen C
This book is the retelling of Jesus dying on the cross from Luke Chapter 23. It is very appealing the way that it is told. The pictures included are wonderful- they tell the story to a non reader as well.
It includes: information about the author in the Bible- Luke, special words with definitions and a scripture verse.
The best part of this book is the awesome message: Jesus is ready to forgive you as well. All you have to do is ask forgiveness for your sins and believe on Him to save you.
I highly recommend this book for your home library.

Touching
Review byYulia
This small book is meant for younger kids, but even my 7 and 9 years old enjoyed it. It has beautiful bright pictures and a wonderful, easy to understand message of forgiveness. It is simple, yet deep.
It even touched my heart. Nicely done!

Powerful message in this little book!
Review byJoyfulMommy
A wonderful little book with a powerful message, at a reading level easy for my third grader to read to her younger siblings, and easy for them to follow and understand. I appreciate the way the author of this series tells a Bible story and then makes direct application with it. This volume uses the story of Jesus forgiving the thief crucified next to Him to illustrate that Jesus forgives and opens the way to heaven for those who believe in Him based on His forgiveness and promise only, not any good deeds we have done. It shows how the humility, love, and forgiveness of Jesus is what made the thief realize this truly was the Son of God and led him to believe in Him; how Jesus gave hope in the midst of hopelessness and life in the midst of death. The illustrations in this book are very “clean” and while we have talked about how awful and ugly the crucifixion scene would have truly been, I think these illustrations handle a heavy topic well for the younger ages. The “about the author” page is neat as it tells a little bit about Luke and how you can read his other true stories about Jesus in the Gospel of Luke in the Bible. Great addition to your library!

A wonderful way to tell this story to young kids.
Review bySara
This is such a great little reader from Luke chapter 23 about the thief on the cross. This little reader tackles a really difficult event for little minds to comprehend. I read this for the first time with my 4 and 6 year old and they loved this book. They were truly captivated by the story and understood why the thief was rewarded with forgiveness. It was such beautiful moment! These are truly great little books to read to your littles and then use again as they are becoming fluent readers, sinking into the heart of each bible event.

Forgiveness
Review byLacee
Jesus Forgives tells the story of the thief hanging with Jesus on the cross in Luke 23. Jesus is the only way to paradise and He is the one that can forgive us of our sins. He created the path to heaven for us. He showed mercy and grace while hanging on the cross, not only to those that beat him and hung him there, but also to the thief hanging with him.
This is a great story to read to little ones about Jesus and His forgiveness. He will always forgive us of our sins, if we ask it of him.
I also like that this little book tells us a little bit about Luke, the author of the book of Luke in the Bible, and that it gives a small glossary for the bigger words for little ones to understand better.
