Very well written course
Review by Yulia
Language Lessons for a Living Education level 11 is a wonderful addition to the series. It is well written and organized. The course prepares students for a college and/or adulthood.

It teaches how to write essays, deepen the relationship with God, learn important traits, how to apply grammar, and to learn and apply logical thinking when writing essays and in life overall.

It teaches APA citation style and provides useful outline and organizational sheets at the end of the book to help students organize their material and write a proper paper using APA citation format.

In addition, it teaches students important character traits such as self control, responsibility, courage, faithfulness, perseverance, compassion and etc. It uses biblical and fictional or nonfictional stories to teach these important qualities. The memory verses are correlated with the character traits discussed during that week.

The course focuses a lot on teaching logic and reasoning. I really like how it’s presented to the students in a practical and easily understandable way.

LLFLE 11 provides students with important vocabulary words to learn and memorize. Some vocabulary words are from the entrance exams for college which is so helpful for students planning to attend college. I wish I could have a course like that growing up; it would make my exam taking experience much more pleasant
Great!

This is such a beautiful course, it is written and structured well. Easy to open and go.
It follows the same format of the other LLFAL books which our children have enjoyed so much!
Another great Language Arts curriculum!
Review by S
In usual Masterbooks style, Language Lessons 11 is laid out in an easy to follow format: 36 weeks of 5 daily lessons for a total of 180 lessons. The weeks follow a pattern: Day 1 studies a Special Feature such as a hymn, poem, picture, Scripture or book excerpt, along with vocabulary, spelling words and Scripture to memorize. Day 2 covers Grammar and Punctuation, Day 3 is about Communication (with God and others), Day 4 focuses on Worldview and Literary Analysis, and Day 5 is a review day. I really appreciate that along with learning better writing and communication skills, the students are also digging deeper into Scripture and learning about heroes of the faith and notable people from history, such as John Paton, Harriet Tubman, Clara Barton. Language Lessons 11 contains such a variety of components that it keeps students’ interest and doesn’t feel repetitive.

There are also many helpful tools in the back of the book: reading & book lists, writing prompts, spelling lists, outlines and worksheets, study sheets, grading rubrics, and the answer key.

My family has enjoyed using the Language Lessons for Living Education curriculum through the years and we are glad that it now covers 11th grade as well. We appreciate that this curriculum points us closer to God while also helping develop students academically.
Well-rounded
Review by Dustie
This series is such a blessing! It truly is designed to help the student develop superior communication skills. It really is open-and-go, and it includes all of the components of a complete high school language arts course in one book. Like the other Master Books courses, the schedule and course objectives are included, making it very helpful for both the parent and the student to stay on track. I think this also helps foster independence for the student and provide clear expectations.
The vocabulary and scripture memorization help solidify good habits and build on previous levels. The grammar and writing components help the student perfect the skills they built a foundation for in earlier levels. The authors include the step-by-step process from brainstorming and outlines, to citing sources properly, to the finished product. The inclusion of logic makes this a unique and well-rounded curriculum, helping students develop discernment and critical thinking skills. It truly helps the student gain a new perspective when it comes to communication with others.
One feature my children and I have found helpful in the various levels is the reference section in the back of the book. In this level, it includes sheets that guide the student in writing an outline for an essay, as well as a reference for properly citing references. I really appreciate that there are extra credit and additional activities available. I find this helpful when I need to ensure that my students understand a topic completely or if there is a second chance needed on a particular assignment.
Overall, I am pleased that the Language Lessons series continues throughout high school. This course is sufficient for those who are college bound, but it is also a wonderful high school language arts course for students who are not, as it is designed to develop communication and logic skills that are useful for life, in general.
Effective and to the point
Review by Michelle
This course ticks all the boxes for me. As someone with a degree in Language Arts and Theory of Literature it always makes me happy when a course is able to effectively introduce, apply and test language concepts without relying on busywork to merely fill the pages. This course cuts the fluff that so many other companies fill their pages with leaving plenty of time for reading, an endeavour that sadly is being neglected across the board in Language Arts because students are overloaded with busywork that they are too burnt out to even consider diving into reading and literature beyond the bit that is required of them.

I find this course easy to follow, engaging and very effective in cementing the concepts needed. This one for sure gets a big thumbs up from me!
