Worked great for us!
Review by Jessica
I was pleasantly surprised at how easily my 5th grader picked up all the concepts this year. It built up his confidence and he has been doing wonderfully, even with new harder concepts like fractions. Very straight forward, we all like that it doesn’t make you feel overwhelmed. Thanks again!

Love it!

We enjoyed Math Level 5. My son was thrilled to run budgets, plan vacation expenses, and write checks. The life lessons intertwined into this curriculum are priceless.
Excellent

It's a wonderful continuation of the book 4 with a gradual progression to move forward into new material while constantly reviewing the material they've already learned so they don't forget.
This book series has made the difference in our homeschool experience! It doesn't take long if you're working through them every day. It's being retained and everyday gets easier.
SO glad we found this!
Gentle Approach
Review by Christina
My twins absolutely love that their math curriculum has stories about the twins named Charlie and Charlotte. We've used this curriculum for 3 years now, and they've told me that they always want to stick with Master Books. I love the lessons, and the gentle approach.
Great for a stimuli- and literature-loving child.
Review by Laura D.
This was our first foray into MB Math. I grew up using no-nonsense black-and-white textbooks, which I preferred to those with illustrations as all the "extras" were distracting, for me. My son, however, reached third grade (multiplication) in what I thought was a great math program and started floundering. He could play math board games but just DRAGGED with the curriculum. I tried many different things to help, but we didn't make a lot of progress. Worse, he was dreading math and so was I! He liked his MB Language, so after reading MANY reviews on MLFLE, we decided to take the plunge with grade 5. He fell in love day 1 and kept telling me, "Thank you for my new curriculum! I LOVE the stories!". My experience with MLFLE 5 + and now 6 is that they are not "rigorous", but they are very sufficient. If your child is struggling or weary with his math program, if "extra stuff" (like the lovely life stories in the elementary MLFLE) is your kid's jam, if you as the teacher need to breathe again (lesson plans are a breeze!), if you can put in a few extra minutes to tweak where extra practice is needed (we use board/card games and online games for fact review), GIVE THIS A TRY! As a math major myself, I wrestled with the idea that I was surrendering "proficiency" by choosing MB, but while that may be a bit true (depending on your definition of proficiency), there was also the reality that my son was dreading and consequently resisting math every. single. day. I asked myself what was a better choice: push the "more rigorous" program and lose retention (not to mention joy) or choose a program that "clicks" so he can remember and utilize far more? Easy answer when put in those terms. :) He's just sad that math switches styles from 6th to 7th grade and no longer follows the "families" he's come to enjoy reading about! P.S. One more assurance on that "rigorous" concern: MB 6 is so thorough, it covers well over half of my dear old Saxon 76. By all means read reviews, but don't be turned off by those who say MB is not "rigorous". DO WHAT IS BEST FOR YOUR UNIQUE CHILD! :)
Another Amazing Product!

We have tried it all when it comes to curriculum! The road keeps coming back to Master Books! Math level 5 has been a great fit for my daughter! It challenges her but also gives her a sense of accomplishment!
Great Book
Review by Mer
Overall, I love the pace and approach that this book takes. However, my daughter has not found as much benefit from the video lessons as I had hoped. Mr. Matt is a great teacher, but sometimes my daughter needs further teaching content from the videos.
Amazing!!!

My son loves math but it was always a struggle to get him to apply himself with lengthy curriculum. Master Books has been a game changer! He is thriving now!
A great fit for us!
Review by Jessica
We switched to Master books Math after day 1 this year from a different curriculum. Last year, there were tears and frustration. This year.....has been amazing!!! Because of the slower pace, my daughters are not only enjoying math more but also retaining the information. A great fit for us!
