For Older Kids
Review byRachael
I bought this with the intention of using it for my 3rd grader... Personal opinion- I think it is better suited for 5th or 6th grade.
It is full of hands on activities which is what both my girls love about the Let's Talk About Science curriculum. So I believe it will be a good fit just when they are a little bit older.

Elem Chem & Physics
Review byAmanda
Love it! Excellent elementary chemistry and physics! The student journals, books, and teacher guide are all so well-written! There’s no comparison! We LOVE MB! So excited about this purchase!! Our 9 year old narrowed it down to 3 sciences and histories this year! Chemistry and physics was the first one she chose and she’s so excited! It’s amazing going from traditional philosophy to Charlotte Mason-inspired MB!

Nice intro to Chemistry
Review byTeisha
I did like this book and how accessible it made the topic of chemistry. The experiments are easy to do and didn’t take a bunch of unusual equipment or supplies, which is definitely a bonus. I think the Teacher’s Guide and Student Journal would be helpful, and I’d definitely order those if I used this in the future.

Matter
Review byTracy
Pair with Teacher's Guide, journal, and Science Starters Chemistry & Physics. Will be using this after my 3rd grader finishes Water & Weather, then we'll do Earth & Physical. We're adding God's Design for Life since this was only 2-3 days per week.

Hands On Chemistry Made Easy
Review byHeather
The teacher's guide gives you teaching tips, additional material, and answers to the questions in the book. It also gives a fyi grading guide in case you need help with grading.
The student journal is basically a lab book for the student to record everything from the experiments and questions in the book. It covers The Activity: Procedure and Observations, Thinking About, Dig Deeper (extra activities for further learning), What Did You Learn, and Stumper's Corner (student writes 2 questions about the topic that are meant to "stump" someone) for each of the 20 activities. It also has a place in the back for additional notes.
This is a fun set because it's chemistry, and chemical reactions are just plain fun (in my opinion). The dig deeper portion allows the student to get a more in depth understanding of the concepts being presented. The student journal helps them stay focused on the task at hand. The glossary and appendix at the back of the book is also a plus.
Everything is laid out for the teacher. The lessons begin with observations and experiments followed by the lesson which captures a child's attention. If you have the supplies needed, you can quickly look over the lesson the night before and easily teach the lesson the next day. Or, if you have an older child, they can do the lesson completely on their own. For the most part, the items used in the experiments are household items.
Note: This is a creation science based book. I received a copy of this set for the purpose of writing a review on my blog. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
