Good intro
Review by Hannah
This was not our favorite study & we really struggled through it. For a 5 yo it was just a lot of reading and didn’t hold his attention well. The book was very conveniently laid out though, as are all of the MB books we’ve studied so far, and full of good information for a history introduction.
PERFECT FOR US
Review by Lucia
Ok, so I wanted a social studies curriculum that would expose my son to a LOT of new and interesting social studies concepts, like language, culture, arts, food, etc, and this did EXACTLY THAT in such a SWEET & BEAUTIFUL way. I adore this curriculum. I think this was actually my favorite curriculum for grade k of any subject. I enjoyed that each lesson had a new set of vocabulary, a different country to identify on the map, a new language to hear of, and all other sorts of interesting fun facts and useful and CHRISTIAN focus. This curriculum is an excellent and light “spine” textbook which can serve as a starting off point to deeper conversations. Ex, I would preview the months lessons, and pick out some fun themes I saw as I skimmed, and then when we went to th library, I’d pick out a few books to add to each weeks theme. (Not at all necessary, but to us, it was FUN.) the curriculum is deep enough that your child will learn of all sorts of new topics but light enough that it can hold a 4 year olds interest as you read to them, and if needed you can easily complete the weeks lessons in one go. All in all, I LOVED the information presented, found it incredibly wholesome and helpful to my child’s education, and lots of fun for the whole family to listen in on and learn from. It’s an excellent grade k curriculum. I highly recommend it!
Nice but simple
Review by Mandi
Love the pictures and concepts but felt it was too basic even for my kindergartens. I would do it again for pre-school instead.
Great content...just not a great fit for his learning style.
Review by TisforTeacherMama
My child is more visual and hands-on. We started this book when he was 5.5 years old. I think I would have waited until he was 6.5. That being said it just didn't fit his learning style is great when learning about the cultures!
Not my favorite but well set up
Review by Ashley
Although it wasn't our favorite course and we didn't finish it . I will say it was well layed out and designed. Material was clearly presented and well organized. It just didn't work well for us at the time we used it with the stage of life we were in. This is still a amazing resource but out of all the masterbooks materials we have used and own (and it's a entire bookcase worth) this one just didn't work for our littles at the time.
My child enjoyed it

My child liked the book for the most part. When we were done using it, she asked me to buy another one for the next year!!
Good
Review by Amy
We were not big fans of the higher levels of this series with my older child, but I am really enjoying Level K with my younger this year.
Vivid pictures

Good intro to history
Review by Lindsay
My middle son enjoyed this a lot!! He loved learning different facts about different places as well as different words/ phrases in different languages. He did find a lot of the journal entries as boring for him but i did have him finish them. Sometimes i just hand him answer me and id write it all out for him.
Daughter Liked It!
Review by Heather
My daughter liked this social studies curriculum. She enjoyed learning about different cultures and their languages. It was a good pace for her in Kindergarten.
