    I’m so excited to dig into this book with my 3 girls! Reading through this book, I know my kids are going to learn the difference between joy and happiness. The questions asked in this book are very thought provoking! My kids will see and learn about the joy that comes from doing the will of God no matter where they are in this life.     This book has wonderful bible verses and questions to help us understand true, biblical joy. It’s the opposite of what we learn in the world and teaches us how to find joy in Christ, no matter what our circumstances are.

    A Balanced view of Christian Joy

    The format across all nine of these books remains consistent, which is helpful, I think, if using these as a first "adult" devotional study for jr. high and older students. It was encouraging in this book to see the author's continued focus on life application. One way he does this is to have the reader consider circumstances which challenge joy. He does a very thorough job, I think, bringing out what the barriers are to joyful living. He also gives a balance view of what joy actually looks like, calling it a calm delight. What was most encouraging to find was the instruction that joy is tied to obedience....a truth often glossed over.
