Improve penmanship while memorizing and applying the words of Jesus through engaging, Scripture-based activities.

More than just a handwriting workbook, Little Scribes: Practicing Penmanship with Scripture teaches students to approach God’s Word with the same reverence and care as the biblical scribes. This handwriting curriculum transforms handwriting practice into an act of worship. As children carefully write the words of Jesus, they develop spiritual discipline and attentiveness, build confidence in their writing, and cultivate a personal connection with God’s Word.

Each lesson blends handwriting, Bible memory, and hands-on application to help kids truly hide Scripture in their hearts (Psalm 119:11)—building both skill and faith at the same time.

Lovely add-on!
Review by Marlé
It's a fun add-on to a Bible curriculum. Lovely verses to practice on, but your child need to know cursive already(additional practice). I enjoy that the sentences get longer as they work through the book and the additional activities are fun and engaging. The answer sheet at the back is a huge plus in my book!
Lovely resource!

What a lovely book to add to our baskets! I find this an excellent way to promote scripture memorisation and give handwriting practice. My kids are currently still busy with Handwriting A-Zoo and I might shelve it until they are done with that one as it seems to be the perfect stepping stone between A-Zoo and Catch on to Cursive. My daughter absolutely loves it(she is 7). I do feel a little more foundation work is needed in her case before she will receive the full benefits as she still turns her letters and numbers around a bit and formation is often wrong. Once she has the mechanics down this one will definitely be the next step. It is absolutely gorgeous and filled with great biblical concepts presented in bite-sized activities. Definitely recommend.
Bible and Handwriting Practice
Review by JC
I would consider this more of a Bible supplement or copywork book than I would handwriting practice. My reasoning behind this is because print handwriting is everywhere. So for me, handwriting practice is more than copying. I would expect more formation instruction/reminders, tips for spacing, etc. This book doesn't have those things. If all your child needs is copywork, then this fits the bill. If they need more help, I suggest doing A to Zoo offered by Masterbooks first, then this book.
....However, I do like this as a Bible supplement. Some things covered as part of the copy work are: how to write out a Bible verse reference, a prayer journal, words of Christ are printed in red like they are in many Bibles, topics such as godly character and sharing the Gospel, etc. In that respect, it's very good. I would also say that a child who can read can probably do it independently for the most, if not the entire, part. Which frees up mom's time .
All in One Bible and Handwriting Course
Review by LoveToBeMom
A lot of thought, prayer, and planning went into this sweet hand writing course! Children will practice printing letters by copying the direct words of Jesus. It is compiled in such a way that children will learn the truth of God’s word. The verses are not just randomly chosen but are grouped to help children better understand the gospel, key elements of the Christian walk, and what Jesus desires for us. There is also a prayer journal to help children have a more intentional prayer life. Children will learn about salvation, eternal life, and forgiveness to name only a few. I highly recommend this!
Writing God’s word
Review by Lboaz
This is an excellent resource to practice handwriting. It not only gives text to copy but also activities that will strengthen hand muscles such as coloring sheets, mazes and drawing. I love that my kids are learning foundational scriptures as they work through this book. The prayer journal activity is a nice addition as well.
Great for extra practice
Review by Yulia
Practicing Penmanship with Scripture would be a great addition to a Handwriting course. I love that the author uses scripture for tracing and copying: it's a great way to memorize the scripture and get the needed practice. I am using it for my 3rd grader for extra practice and to get more scripture into her heart :), but I think it will be best for 2nd grade and below (at least in the opinion of my child, some exercises seem too easy for her). I am still grateful for the extra copy work for her, but I would love to see more of these for older students.
Biblical writing practice
Review by Barbara D.
I'll start by saying my daughter absolutely loved this! She is enjoying copying Bible verses and some of the added activities. There is a suggested schedule for twice a week, and she decided to do multiple pages in a day.
From a parent perspective, this should follow using A to Zoo as to practice the writing skills they have already learned. This doesn't teach writing skills but gives the student further practice in the skills they have already learned. Every assignment gives the student a Bible verse to trace and then copy, with an additional fun activity. My daughter preferred some activities over others. Some of these activities are coloring pages, but some are crossword puzzles or making and using a prayer journal. (Not a Bible study or a devotional book, but can open up some good discussions by talking about what verse they are "scribing" that day.)
I loved how simple it was for my as a mom to implement.
Fantastic Resource!

A great way for children not only to practice handwriting but to hide God’s word in their heart every day. Writing God’s word helps with memory and this workbook does just that! The lessons are short and engaging and the ACTS prayer journal is amazing!
Great!

I absolutely love this book! This is perfect for struggling writers or new writers who are needing a little bit extra penmanship practice!
I love that it takes the words from the New Testament/Jesus words!
I also like the fact that there’s some activities that help with correct pencil grip but it’s something fun and not just copying words.
Being only a couple days a week makes it a totally doable addition to your Homeschool day and it does not wear out the kids too much and makes it something to look forward to instead of dreaded.
I highly recommend this new resource!
Wonderful words of life!
Review by JoyfulMommy
My second grader and kindergartner were both excited when I printed these pages for them! The biblical themes tie the Scripture selections together with other activities like mazes and coloring pages, leading not only to fine motor skills and penmanship practice, but also openings for meaningful, heart-level conversations. What better words for children to copy and think upon than the living and active Word of God?!
