Worked for us
Review by Hannah
We really enjoyed this curriculum for our 5 yo! However I will say if you used the Stepping Stones curriculum for pre-k, this can seem a bit slow/redundant starting out. The end of the year seemed to pick up for us and taught new things. Every kid learns at a different pace though so depending on where your child is at when starting Kindergarten, this book might be the perfect start for you! Would buy again, just might skip through some of the beginning weeks.
I love MB, but this one isn’t my favorite

The pages are very busy and wordy for my liking. I find it hard to focus on the lesson. I also don’t like how the ABC chart, weather chart, and emotions chart are printed at a slant. It’s such a cute curriculum. I wanted to love it, but I had to switch away from it. It wasn’t a good fit for us. I love LLFLE and MLFLE though!!
LOVED IT

As a mom with a level 2, non-speaking autistic 4 year old son, I LOVED this curriculum. I appreciated that the lessons were Bible centered, life skills focused, and S I M P L E. Sometimes the text seemed a little bit too wordy, but overall it was GREAT and perfect for a 4 year old. I felt that my son was able to glean some sweet Bible lessons, practice his handwriting, and enjoy the activities. All in all, I highly recommend this curriculum and I really appreciate how it is truly concerned with the wellbeing of the whole child, not only the academic side, but relationally, and spiritually. As a first time homeschool mom, I loved this and really enjoyed it.

Shipping was quick and package was exactly as described!

We haven't started using it yet bought it for the 2025/2026 school year but just flipping through it and looking at the lessons! It's definitely what I was looking for! So far we are loving the way it's laid out!

Love. Love love

This was a wonderful, thorough curriculum. I used it for a preschool age. On top of teaching basics in reading and writing it taught what to do in a fire and earthquake, red light and green lights. It was really cute and fun and my child loved seeing what fun thing was next.

Loved this cirriculum with my daughter. I love how it is biblically based and so much fun.
A bit wordy

I love using Master Books products. Nonetheless, the only time I tried using Simply K I found it to be a bit too wordy to use it with my child.
We stopped using halfway through the year
Review by Okay, but not for us
While I understand that Master Books says that this is developmentally appropriate for Kindergarten, I wanted more for Kindergarten. This is definitely a gentle approach. My daughter enjoyed parts of the program. But again, she wanted a little more too. She enjoyed the worksheets and coloring activities, but there weren’t always that many of those. We enjoyed the Bible lessons and the rhymes. I wish the “life skills” would focus mostly on school skills like cutting and gluing, etc. We do chores and other things around the house already so it wasn’t helpful when the book would ask you to fold clothes. Also, this was setup for a 3 day/week schedule, so I had to figure out what to do the other 2 days. This book had a lot going for it, but I see it more as a preschool program.
Great to start out learning journey!

This is great for introducing alphabetic principles. This would be used BEFORE having your child formerly start reading. My favorite part was the life skills. We also used this for bible. The Bible verses are a bit long especially if you have a child that has some language delays but adding the actions are very helpful.
