Just ok, overall
Review by 20-yr homeschool veteran
It’s been almost a full year of using The World’s Story 2 history curriculum, and I keep finding myself wishing it was slightly better. The chapters don’t seem exhaustive enough for the topics, and the author keeps inserting her own opinions regarding the historical topic in lieu of more facts. The teacher’s guide is pointless as well: There really aren’t any usable worksheets for the lessons unless your student is extra creative. I just want standard, fill-in-the-blank worksheets; or crosswords. But no: every “worksheet” requires the student to write full sentences, and there are usually only two questions to answer. It’s both not enough to reinforce what the student has learned and also TOO much writing. I do like the photos, art, and maps used. I think I will use the 3rd book in the series next year, but I will not be purchasing the teacher’s guide.
History Through a Biblical Lens
Review by Maria Gracia
*The World's Story 2: The Middle Ages* is a wonderful resource for bringing history to life in a clear and engaging way. The narrative style makes it easy for children to understand and stay interested, turning historical events into meaningful stories rather than just facts to memorize.

What truly sets this material apart is its biblical worldview. Learning history through this lens makes a significant difference, as it helps children see God’s hand, purpose, and truth reflected throughout time. It’s not the same as studying history from a neutral perspective—this approach adds depth, meaning, and a stronger foundation for understanding the world.
It’s an excellent choice for families, especially those who homeschool, and want to teach history in a way that is both educational and rooted in biblical truth.
Engaging and easy-to-understand world history with beautiful visuals.

We have really enjoyed this 7th grade world history course covering the Middle Ages. The lessons include beautiful pictures and engaging information that bring the time period to life. The material is presented clearly and is easy for students to understand, making history both interesting and enjoyable to learn.
Love it

I like this curriculum. We are actually using it alongside the Exploring Medieval Kingdoms curriculum. Note: This is only my preference and my homeschool style, both curriculums are great on their own. The World's Story does however give them more information on what was happening around the world during the Middle Ages and it includes architecture and art studies. The lessons are short, but packed with information and pictures. The worksheets from the teachers guide are nice and my kids (11 and 12) use them as they follow along with the story.
We loved this curriculum!

We really enjoyed this history curriculum. We used it for grade 6. The book was engaging and the beautiful pictures helped tie everything together. I love the incorporation of geography and other special projects. I would recommend this history curriculum for sure!
Great For Independent 6th Grader

My son recently switched from Story of the World to The World's Story. I have two other kids to teach, and prefer an open and go curriculum. Even though there is a teacher guide, and instructions for parents, we were able to make The World's Story work for us. My son enjoyed it, and I was glad to see him get a little more involved in history.
Love love love

I looooooove this history book. My kid is obsessed with the middle ages and even more with the Tudors family, I was glad to see it has a few chapters on that for her. The pictures are beautiful. I 100% recommend.
Awesome!

This is awesome!! What a great course. Our son started this last year towards the end of grade 7 (after he had finished a different curriculum history course) and this one was so packed full of interesting information and learning tidbits, it has really sparked his joy for history. It also shows Gods hand in it all - and what more could parents ask for! (And I read it in the evenings and while I printed it out because it is so interesting and presented so beautifully with all the colourful pictures!)
Would Recommend!

My daughter is about finished with this course set this year at her hybrid school and she has really enjoyed learning what this set covers. It’s easy for her to follow herself and complete the worksheets. She has learned a great deal and likes to give me summaries of some of her favorite tidbits she’s learned. We’re looking forward to level 3 next year.
