Wonderful addition, makes the learning fun
Review byAndi
Great audiobook. Very clear, easy to listen to. We listen as we drive or have down time. Offers time for discussion and they can follow along in the book if they want to. The download was divided into chapters which made it easy for me to keep track of where we are. I have really enjoyed the audio option for these books. Felt like you were there listening to directly to what was happening. Sometimes it's nice to have an audio version as an alternative and this is an excellent option.

Helpful resource with World's Story curriculum
Review bySB
Our family is excited to have the audiobook version of this book to use along with the World’s Story curriculum. It is extra special to have the book narrated by the author, Angela O’Dell. The lessons are typically around 21 minutes long, and hold our attention. It is so convenient to be able to listen to the lesson, especially if we are in the car. I appreciate how World’s Story 3 covers history from the Explorers to modern times from a Biblical worldview. If you are using the World’s Story curriculum, I would definitely recommend also having the textbook because of all the pictures and other helpful visual information. However, the audiobook is a helpful tool and is even beneficial to listen to even if you aren’t working through the curriculum. I think it is enjoyable and beneficial for kids and adults.

Valuable Enhancement
Review byMichele
We have loved Angela O'Dell's audio versions of her books since we started America's Story and the World's Story did not disappoint. The content is leveled up, but it still feels like our historian aunt is sitting around the fireside telling us about the impactful events of history. The files were so easy to save, use, and play on my computer. I find myself listening ahead of my students, like a podcast. If you weren't using the World's Story textbook, I think these could be an enjoyable car trip or audiobook to listen to in installments.

A wonderful addition!
Review byMichelle
How wonderful to be able to listen to a history course on the go. As parents we all know how often appointments can interfere with school time! We live in the countryside so a simple trip to the dentist easily takes an hour of commute without the time spent at the actual appointment. Resources like these fill the car ride with learning and eases anxiety about getting all their learning done for the day. It also really helps bring the textbook to life at home, if the toddler is having a particularly noisy day it has been great to offer headphones and have them listen to the information so they don't have to wait for me to settle him. With special needs kids in the house this is a true gem!
As usual, Angela's work is amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Her love for the subject shines clear.

Exciting addition to the World’s Story curriculum
Review byLBoaz
History has never been something that captures my attention but I really enjoy listening to Angela O’Dell & her history books. This audiobook is no exception. She tells what is important in a matter of fact manner while tying in the Biblical worldview. The audiobook is great supplement to the physical book as well as just listening for fun. My younger kids even enjoy listening along.

Excellent overview from a biblical worldview
Review byJoyfulMommy
Angela O’Dell’s history books feel like sitting down with a friend telling you stories from history, and connecting the stories with your own life at points. I think that feeling is even more enhanced by actually listening to her on this audiobook. She gives a wonderful brief overview of major events going on around the world, and shows how various discoveries were affecting people’s worldview and, subsequently, actions which shaped the course of history - tactfully but truthfully sharing even hard parts of history. Stories of faithful Christians and church history are told against the backdrop of historical context, and also whet my appetite to read more biographies about these faithful men and women! I love Mrs. O’Dell’s reminders that while history can seem like a bowl of spaghetti noodles - all happening in confusing connection - God is not confused, surprised, or overtaken by any of it. This is such an applicable truth to the present day - because we serve a faithful, unchanging God!
I must say, I love the printed textbook with all its vivid illustrations, photos, and extra historical tidbits - and I don’t feel the audio is a substitute, but it complements it nicely if you want to follow along, or listen and come back to the visuals later. Personally, I am enjoying listening so I can engage my student about what he’s studying since I don’t have time to actually read the lessons with him. I love getting the helicopter view of world history myself (I was so excited when our pastor referenced something I had just listened to in this book!). That said, whether you have a student taking this course or not, I think parents and older students would enjoy this excellent audiobook.

Captivating History for the Whole Family
Review byKathleen C
As a homeschool mom, I’m so thankful for The World’s Story 3: The Modern Age audiobook from Master Books. Having this read aloud makes history feel alive and accessible, and it’s been a great way to cover modern history without overwhelming my kids. The narration is clear and well-paced, which makes it easy for us to listen during car rides or while working around the house.
What I really appreciate is how this volume handles modern events through a biblical lens. It doesn’t shy away from difficult topics, but it presents them in a way that encourages thoughtful conversations about God’s hand in history and how people’s choices shaped the world we live in today. My kids have connected with the stories of real people, inventions, and events much more deeply through listening.
This audiobook makes it simple to bring history into our daily routine, and it helps spark discussions that tie into other subjects we’re studying. For homeschool families who want an engaging, faith-based approach to modern history, this is a fantastic resource.

Unique perspective
Review byBuildingontheRock
World’s Story 3 by Angela O’Dell covers the Modern Age from the time of the explorers through the present day. Mrs. O’Dell sprinkles aspects of church history throughout the book. A unique perspective is the inclusion of the development of ideologies that have continued to influence world culture to this day. The “New to Known” sections make connections between new pieces of information with things the student has learned in the past - if they have previously completed any of her other history courses. The narration is erratic at times which can disrupt the train of thought. Adjusting the playback speed can help smooth this out. Overall the World’s Story 3 audiobook would be a good companion to listen to while reading the book or on the go.

Worth Every Penny
Review byLaurie
The World's Story 3: The Modern Age audiobook has been a valuable resource for more than one of my children. My daughter, who is currently taking the course, prefers to use this method by listening with headphones and following along with the textbook. She can retain a significant amount of information with this method. The course itself is a full year of history; the length of the audio is approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes. I highly recommend it as an enjoyable addition to learning history.

Engaging History
Review byRachel
The World’s Story 3 covers the Modern Age: Explorers through Present Day. Once again O’Dell delivers and makes history come alive. Our family loves all of her work. This audio book allows for personalization of our school choices in so many ways! It allows my dyslexic child to gain some much desired independence and feel successful working on his own. It allows us to take our history on the go, when we are driving to and from different activities. We often spend a lot of time driving in the car, because we live some distance away from our activities. It also gives freedom for mom to tackle other tasks, like changing a diaper or folding laundry, while the kids are still engaged in school! I couldn’t be more thankful for this option. We all truly enjoy O’Dell’s presentation of history and her reading and presenting the topics in the audio version is no different. She truly comes alive as she covers the material and you can sense her passion for the topics she covers.
