World History (Revised - Teacher Guide - Download)

The Teacher Guide is like all the other Teacher Guides Master Books offers with the worksheets, quizzes, exams, answer key, suggested schedule, and parent notes. The assignments for what to read in "So Noted" are on the workbook pages and in the schedule.
The worksheets have a lot of fill in the blank, multiple choice, true/false, and answer the question. It is great to help a student prepare for adult life and college when specific answers are being looked for, especially with testing.
Many of the non-specific answers come with the "So Noted" assignments. Those are good questions for Biblical understanding.

This teacher guide contains a schedule to complete this world history course over 180 days/36 weeks. Generally, four days/ week the student is reading a lesson in the textbook and completing an assignment in this guide. The final exercise each week involves reading in So Noted, a commentary on the book of Genesis written by Henry Morris, and working on a worldview assignment. Students will read through the book of Genesis throughout this course. This teacher guide also includes quarterly exams, a world history timeline, an answer key, and a chart showing comparative worldviews. I appreciate the way that the Bible is woven into this course. Some families will appreciate this workbook approach. Others may opt to use the textbook and supplement with literature and other hands-on projects. This e-book version is convenient if you are using for multiple children.

The World History course is an excellent history course for your upper high-school student (10th-12th grade). It is a one-year course (36 weeks) that will earn your student 1 credit. Time investment is about 30-45 minutes per day, five days a week.

I will be the first to admit, I never enjoyed history in school growing up. I found it so dry and boring. Honestly, I thought this would be my least favorite subject to teach my children. Masterbooks history has repeatedly changed my mind in that department with their history curriculum. I found this to be the case with their elementary curriculum, but I was curious to know how it would be in high school. My daughter is in 10th grade, and we thought this curriculum would be a good fit for her to get her high school world history credit. I was very surprised to see how they brought forth high school level teaching, while still making history come alive. The Bible is such an important part of history, and we only felt it appropriate to teach history from a young earth perspective, which this curriculum does. Each section is taught from a Biblical perspective. The curriculum starts in the beginning with creation and goes through modern times (even covering Sept. 11). Colorful pictures capture the student (and parent reading too). There are daily questions in the teacher's guide to go along with each lesson. I highly recommend this curriculum for parents looking for a Biblically solid high school history curriculum.
